I used Purple Poppy and Pink Blush and alternated each nail that I painted. I used two coats of each to get a very solid colour. This polish went on really nicely and is quite opaque. Continue reading
I recently bought Models Own Hed Kandi Ibiza Mix and have only used it once so far. A waste I think you will agree! My previous manicure I painted my nails pink and applied the glitter on top. Today I chose this grey metallic colour by Barry M. Instead of painting the whole nail with the glitter I lightly painted the top third to begin with and layered the glitter on top of each coat. I then slowly dabbed a little down the nail so it went to just past the centre. Continue reading
I have owned Barry M Gold Foil for a while but I have never painted my nails with it. I always use it for detail in my nail art such as stamping or outlining. Today I was thinking about an animal print manicure. I chose to have a statement nail rather than making all of my nails animal print.
I firstly decided that my statement nail would be really bold with a pink or blue base colour but as I was looking through my polishes I found a Nails Inc Gold Glitter called Chelsea Embankment. I painted my nail with just one coat of this and it gave really good coverage. Continue reading
I had a big sort out last weekend of all of my nail polishes. Whilst doing my sort out I found this lovely colour. It is called Apricot Punch by Rimmel. It is one of the 60 second dry range and I bought it over a year ago because it matched the colour of a dress that I was going to wear. I tend to stick to brands that I love [Barry M and Nails Inc being my faves] but this is a really nice polish.I had seen this website do a bow manicure. I used Mash Nails Stamping White to paint the corner of each nail. I used Mash Nails Stamping Black to draw on the bow detail. Continue reading
After painting my nails with spots and stripes in this post earlier this week I started thinking about other vintage designs I could do with my nails. I was searching the internet when I came across this nail tutorial which showed how to paint a vintage rose design. I thought I would give it a try. Here is my finished design and I have tried to take a picture of each step to show how I did it.Step 1. Paint your nails with a base colour. I chose China Glaze Moody Blue. The colour reminds me of background that Cath Kidston uses on a lot of material so I thought this would be a really good colour. This polish is very thin and I had to paint four thin coats to get the colour shown in the pictures. Continue reading
I have recently purchased some China Glaze nail polishes and prepare yourselves for the blog posts over the next few days. I cannot wait to try them all out and see how they look. The first colour I purchased is called Entourage. It is quite a sheer polish and I painted my nails with two coats. It has a slight shimmer to it.I couldn’t leave my nails plain so I thought I would try a stamp I have not yes used. I chose BM 211 because it had two different designs that I thought I could use together. Continue reading
I bought my first indie nail polish a couple of weeks ago from America. The brand is Aqua Daisy and I bought it from Etsy. This polish is called Right Eye Blue, the seller also makes a red glitter version called Left Eye Red and you can get the whole set with a pair of 3D glasses. This is my first jelly polish. I love the fact that some glitter looks further up on the nail and some looks sunken. What I love about this polish is the liquid is a very dark blue so you do not need to paint this over another polish colour.
