Barry M Grapefuit & Green Berry Gelly Polish and Black and White Nail Art Pen

How cute is my manicure today? I want a nice spring feel to my nails so I alternated them with Grapefruit and Green Berry. Both of these gelly polishes have a great coverage. I used only two coats. When they had dried for a few minutes I used my new Barry M White Nail Art Pen to draw on the highlight onto each nail to give it a bit of a cartoon effect. I used the black nail art pen to add the black heart. I think it looks really cute and I don’t want to take these nails off.

Barry M New Summer Gelly Polishes: Guava, Passionfruit, Blue Grape, Key Lime & Mango Swatches

Barry M are launching lots of lovely polishes over the next month and I was so happy painting my nails with these pretty colours this afternoon.

I painted each of my nails with two coats and you can see how bright and opaque this polishes are. These are brilliant colours for the summer and like the other Gelly polishes in the range go on very smoothly. The names of each of the polishes have an exotic fruity theme: Key Lime (Lime Green), Guava (Teal), Passion Fruit (Pink/Red), Blue Grape (Cobalt Blue), Mango (Orange).

These launch in Superdrug on June 5^th & Boots on June 12^thand the retail price is £3.99.

Barry M Watermelon Gelly Green and Gold Stud Nail Art

I fancied doing something different to my nails. I wanted a dark manicure so I picked Watermelon. I painted my nails with three coats. I waited about a minute between coats and then used gold foil, studs, striping tape and gold glitter to make the nail art.

It is surprising how quick this was. The main tip I suggest is though if you want to do a tape manicure, like I have with the triangle gold shape on my index finger, leave your polish to dry for an hour at least and go back and do that nail. I always find otherwise I end up with smudges in the polishes when I remove the tape.

Models Own Ice Neon Polish Collection Swatches

Last weekend I headed down to London very excited because Models Own were launching Neon polishes. Polishes you can keep in the fridge to make the neon more bright and vibrant than standard neon polishes. Excitedly I arrived at the bottle shop in Westfield London and actually ended up buying the Pastel Perfumed collection too which I have already tried out last week when I did my vintage nails post.

I painted each nail and waited anxiously. The boxset says these are matt polishes. To be honest the first coat dried very matt but as I added two more coats they are not as matt as I thought [if you imagine some of the Hed Kandi Boxset - it is not quite like that]. I used three coats in total and love the effect!

Neons are one of those things that some people might think yuck but I honestly think wow and I can’t wait for summer to wear these colours every day!

The colours are Bubblegum (pink). Luis Lemon (yellow), Pukka Purple (purple), Toxic Apple (green) and Pink Punch (coral). I bought the whole boxset and the girls on the store were nice enough to swap the clear base coat for a different colour as I have three clear base coats – a brilliant service from the bottle shop and I cannot wait to go back for the next big release!

Polish Days – Vintage Nail Art – Models Own Fruit Pastels Nail Polish

For today’s Vintage Themed Polish Days I decided to use some brand new polishes which I bought on Saturday from Westfield London. These are Models Own’s Fruit Pastel perfumed polishes!

I painted each nail with three coats and used a Cath Kidston style pattern to give the vintage effect. The polishes are called Strawberry Tart, Apple Pie, Banana Split, Blueberry Muffin and Grape Juice. The smell is very strong on each nail and it will be interesting to see how long the perfume smell lasts.

Barry M Ridley Road Textured Polish and Green Berry Gelly Polish Nail Art

This weekend I was in York and I painted my nails a bright fresh spring colour. I love Barry M’s new gelly polish and I also love their new textured polish. I decided to mix the two together and I love the result. Ultra ultra shiny and rough and textured.
