It is time for some neon nails. I thought I would get creative and try Aztec nail art. My first ever attempt. A bit messy for me to keep these nails for too many nails but I had a lot of fun doing them!Models Own Ice Neon Aztec Nail Art by Nailtart.com

I used two coats of each colour. It still amazes me how bright and vibrant these polishes are. I keep smiling everytime I look down at them!Models Own Ice Neon Aztec Nail Art by Nailtart.com

It really feels like spring this week. It is warmer and today the sun was even shining! I thought it was time to brighten up my nails with this gorgeous pastel shade from Models Own called Peach Sherbet.

I painted two coats and used a white polish to paint giant polka dots. I love the effect, it feels like ages since I have used my dotting tool. What do you think?

Models Own Gold Rush Nail Art

I needed some quite glam nails for a night out this week and spent some time doing what I love best, stamping. I decided to try out a new polish called Gold Rush by Models Own which was kindly sent to me by Littlewoods.Models Own Gold Rush nail art by Nailtart.com

I painted each nail with two coats and then I did some stamping on top. It is a gorgeous polish and applies really well. It is good for layering to get a deeper gold colour but I think two coats was fine. I also really like that this polish dries very quickly. Although the bottle looks very shimmery the polish goes on smooth and doesn’t feel grainy.Models Own Gold Rush nail art by Nailtart.com

I think this colour is just what I need as the sunshine has finally arrived in March!

Models Own Neon Ice Bubblegum Houndstooth Stamping Nail Art

A couple of days ago I tried out my new neon polishes and I thought I would try one of the polishes with some nail art. I picked bubblegum. I love pink polishes. Although it is not completely matte, I love the feel of my nails with this polish.Models Own Neon Ice Bubblegum Houndstooth Stamping BM322 Nail Art by Nailtart.com

I used three coats of bubblegum and I waited a few minutes for them to dry. I then used my stamping plate BM 322 which has a houndstooth print on to stamp a design on my ring finger.Models Own Neon Ice Bubblegum Houndstooth Stamping BM322 Nail Art by Nailtart.com

I haven’t used a top coat but I could either use a gloss or matte one to give a different effect. I love these nails and I will be sad when I have to remove this design but I have lots more nail art I want to do with the other neon colours.

Models Own Ice Neon Polish Collection Swatches

Last weekend I headed down to London very excited because Models Own were launching Neon polishes. Polishes you can keep in the fridge to make the neon more bright and vibrant than standard neon polishes. Excitedly I arrived at the bottle shop in Westfield London and actually ended up buying the Pastel Perfumed collection too which I have already tried out last week when I did my vintage nails post.

I painted each nail and waited anxiously. The boxset says these are matt polishes. To be honest the first coat dried very matt but as I added two more coats they are not as matt as I thought [if you imagine some of the Hed Kandi Boxset - it is not quite like that]. I used three coats in total and love the effect!Models Own Ice Neon Collection Bubblegum. Luis Lemon, Pukka Purple, Toxic Apple and Pink Punch by Nailtart.com

Neons are one of those things that some people might think yuck but I honestly think wow and I can’t wait for summer to wear these colours every day!

The colours are Bubblegum (pink). Luis Lemon (yellow), Pukka Purple (purple), Toxic Apple (green) and Pink Punch (coral). I bought the whole boxset and the girls on the store were nice enough to swap the clear base coat for a different colour as I have three clear base coats – a brilliant service from the bottle shop and I cannot wait to go back for the next big release!

What do you think of these neon polishes? Will you be trying them out?

Polish Days – Vintage Nail Art – Models Own Fruit Pastels Nail Polish

For today’s Vintage Themed Polish Days I decided to use some brand new polishes which I bought on Saturday from Westfield London. These are Models Own’s Fruit Pastel perfumed polishes!

I painted each nail with three coats and used a Cath Kidston style pattern to give the vintage effect. The polishes are called Strawberry Tart, Apple Pie, Banana Split, Blueberry Muffin and Grape Juice. The smell is very strong on each nail and it will be interesting to see how long the perfume smell lasts.

Models Own Pinky Brown

You know when you sometimes see a polish and you wonder if it will actually look like that on your nails? Well that is what I wondered about Models Own Pinky Brown. So I thought I would share this post by showing you what one and two coats look like.Models Own Pinky Brown Swatch by Nailtart.com

The second picture doesn’t do this polish justice. I can’t stop looking at my nails and turning them in the light to see the colour from different angles! A very unusual colour but I certainly see the appeal.

Have you tried any of the beetlejuice polishes?
