For Christmas my husband bought me two Nails Inc Magnetic Polishes. I wore them both loads and loads all through January and February and then I sort of forgot about them. I was having a bit of a sort out of my polishes and I thought I would do a blog post about one of them. This colour is a dark purple in the bottle and is called Houses of Parliament.

London 2012 Team GB Paralympics Nail Art
Who else is really excited about the London 2012 Paralympics starting tonight? I became addicted to the Olympics a few weeks and can’t wait to see how well Team GB are going to do. I’ve done a really simple Team GB manicure using team colours and my Barry M Magnetic Blue.
Base Colour: Barry M Bright Red, Matt White, Cobalt Blue, Magnetic Blue
Price: £2.99 – £4.99 from Superdrug or Boots
Barry M Magnetic Blue Union Jack Nails
Base: Barry M Nail Hardener 3 in one top and base coat
Base Colour: Barry M Magnetic Blue
I own a few magnetic nail polishes. Mostly ones by Nails Inc and they are impressive and I used them loads after Christmas. However the pattern that the magnets made was a wave and after a while quite limited in what direction you could do the wave. When I heard that Barry M had launched magnetic polishes I knew I would love them. This has been on my wishlist for ages but each time I have been to Boots or Superdrug it was always sold out. This weekend I found some!
The nail polish is a metallic blue colour and you paint your nails with a coat and let it dry a little. The best way to apply magnetic nail polish so that you get a very obvious pattern is to then apply a very thick second coat and then immediately place the magnet above it. The thicker the coat, the more noticable the pattern.
This is the first time I have used this polish and I am really impressed. My Nails Inc ones were £11 each whereas this Barry M is only £4.99 which I really think is worth it. Right now at Superdrug it is still three for the price of two so you can get three Barry M nail polishes! That’s what I did!
Tonight I chose Union Jack nails because the Olympic torch will be heading through my town tomorrow. I thought it would be a good way to show my support.
